#CountdownToCarmen -  @SoleClassics x #VansVault release. Day 3

When these Van Doren Sk8 Hi LX’s dropped last year I copped on sight. Shout out to James Van Doren, the man who started it all in 66’. These feature the popular “palm leaf” print, canvas, leather, and a little suede. I got them a little dirtier than I would have liked, but still a great spring/summer time shoe.

Vans + Undefeated did a great job with these Eras. I picked these up 3 years ago when they dropped. If you know me; you know I wear these a lot and you know I love suede, I was immediately a fan of these when I first saw them. And I have a bad habit of wearing my suede shoes when it rains, but oh well, anyway. I love the red sole… they’re almost completely monochromatic minus the white piping on the outsole.

I’ll start the countdown off with a bang. These are some of my absolute favorites. Vans Vault teamed up with the great Taka Hayashi and Pendleton for this Sk8 Hi. I pretty much love everything about this shoe, the colors/contrast, materials (wool/leather), and details seen on the tongue and with the custom stitching.

Anonymous ASKED:

You seem like a very inspiring person. The way you portray yourself to the world seems very real and very raw. It seems as though you rarely limit yourself and you respectfully speak your mind, and that is very rare. Continue to do great things!

Wow, thank you for dropping off your thoughts and encouragement. I’m truly honored to be of inspiration for you or anyone else. That’s love. Im glad you appreciate my “rawness”, I always try to be honest about everything, I think everyone can relate to ‘what’s real’ because we’ve all felt the same feelings (same emotions/feelings not necessarily feeling the ‘same way’ about the same things) about one thing or another. I also certainly try to make a conscious effort to believe in my possibilities. I never want to limit myself. Sometimes, I do doubt myself, then I fight it, I think it’s just a part of life that we can improve on everyday.

I really appreciate what you said, it’s very encouraging and motivating. One of my biggest fears is working in vain, but small things like this reassure me that my work has purpose. Thank you
